Company Description:
It all started in San Francisco back in 1972, when our casual style “family dining” concept was born.  Now there are seven Hamburger Mary’s restaurants across the U.S. with plans to expand even further.  So what makes Mary’s so special?

Each Hamburger Mary’s franchise is an “open air bar & grille for open-minded people,” where guests enjoy a flamboyant dining experience.  Everyone is welcome at Hamburger Mary’s, but our unique aspect is that we are the first and only national franchise that is actively marketing primarily to the GLBT community, where we enjoy widespread name recognition.

In addition to great food, it’s the fun atmosphere that keeps people coming back to Mary’s.  When you walk into a Hamburger Mary’s, it’s like walking into Mary’s home, where you will be greeted with a warm smile and friendly (if not somewhat saucy) service.  Each restaurant is a little unique in its eclectic décor because each individual owner is allowed to express themselves (as long as Mary approves, though Honey!).  And all Mary’s have a full bar with nightly entertainment, including MaryOke, Charity Bingo, weekend DJs and Cabaret.

Training process:
We provide support during all phases of opening your Hamburger Mary’s franchise, from site selection to equipment and interior design.  You’ll receive training on our tried-and-true recipes and unique “Mary Show” concept at one of our flagship stores (for owners and senior managers) in addition to on-site training of your opening staff.  After you open, you’ll continue to receive guidance with restaurant functions and promotions.  You can also count on Mary to work on your behalf to get the best pricing from national vendors like Sysco, Heinz and Coca-Cola.

Franchisee Qualifications:
While it is helpful that you have some prior experience in the restaurant industry, it is not required.  What is required is that you have a winning attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get to work.  If you are tired of the corporate world, tired of working for someone else, or have always wanted to own your own bar & grille, then a Hamburger Mary’s franchise just might be perfect for you!
